PE water supply pipes are widely used in building water supply, building drainage, buried drainage, building heating, industrial pipes, etc. due to their own advantages. The connection methods include hot-melt connection and fused connection, while hot melt butt joint is the usual connection way. Regarding the detailed operation, Puhui editor summarizes the following points:
Material preparation: Place the pipe or pipe fittings in a flat position and place them on the docking machine, leaving a cutting allowance of 10-20mm.
Clamping: Select the appropriate slip fixture according to the welded pipe and fittings, and clamp the pipe to prepare for cutting.
Cutting: cutting the surface impurities and oxide layer on welded pipe section or pipe end, to ensure that the two butt end faces are smooth, clean and inclusion-free.
Centering: The end faces of the two welded pipe sections should be completely centered. The smaller the offsetting, the better the result. The offsetting cannot exceed 10% of the wall thickness. Otherwise, it will affect the quality of the docking.
Heating: The docking temperature is generally between 210-230 °C, and the heating time of the heating plate is different in winter and summer. The melting length of the two ends is preferably 1-2 mm.
Switching: Remove the heating plate and quickly make the two hot-melt end faces adhere and pressurize. To ensure the quality of the molten butt joint, the shorter the switching period, the better the result.
Butt-fusion: It is the key to welding. The docking process should always be proceeded under the melt pressure. The width of the two sides of the coil should be 2-4mm.
Cooling: Keep the docking pressure constant, let the interface cool slowly. When the curling is hard and not hot, cooling work is finished.
Completion: After cooling, release the slips, remove the docking machine, and re-prepare to the next interface.
Note: Due to the flexibility and retractility of the PE water supply pipe itself, all pipe installations do not consider the installation of the expansion joint.
